Location: Oslo, Norway (English-speaking office)
Sunstone Institute seeks a skilled and passionate Full Stack Developer to join our team in Oslo. You’ll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the technological infrastructure that powers our mission to identify and mitigate global threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy full-stack web applications using modern technologies and frameworks.
- Collaborate with data scientists and researchers to create user-friendly interfaces for visualizing complex data and analyses.
- Build and maintain APIs to support data integration and communication between different systems.
- Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure high code quality standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) and back-end technologies (e.g., Python, Node.js).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS) and databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Skills:
- GIS tools: PostGIS, Mapbox, GDAL, GeoPandas, GeoDjango, Leaflet (or having experienced with GIS tools)
- Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts.
- Interest in social impact and environmental issues.
